Bugatti, the well-known French luxury car brand, announced that it has teamed up with legendary designer, Larry D. As is well known, nothing with Bugatti branding attached to it is cheap, but retail prices for these lenses range from $1,295 to $15,000. And while it’s hard to be shocked by Bugatti’s prices any longer, it’s worth remembering that the French manufacturer sells its glasses for close to the price of a nissan versa ($15,730).

“When I got the call from Bugatti, I was a bit surprised, but to have the most powerful and luxurious car manufacturer in the world reach out to create their glasses was an honor,” Sands said. And he added: “Everything I do is unexpected, and Bugatti Eyewear is one of my most unexpected works so far. Expectation is the enemy of creativity«.

Bugatti indicates that some of the sunglasses from this collection are made with techniques that have never been used in the manufacture of glasses. Some include positive vapor deposition, in which a solid material is vaporized in a vacuum and deposited on the surface of a product. The finish is resistant to wear and tear and has also been used in the production of modern models of the French brand.
