I admit that I have a problem. I had a Mercedes W124 a few years ago. I bought it in poor condition, put it more or less up to date, and sold it. I sold it because finishing the tune-up was beyond my skills, because it was an unnecessary expense, and because I didn’t use it. But not a day goes by that I don’t regret selling it. I am a true fan of the Mercedes of the eighties and I would do terrible things for a W124 in family body and well loaded with extras. That is why watching this video has caused me a terrible withdrawal syndrome.
The video stars, of course, the great Larry Kosilla from AMMO NYC. The owner of this detailing workshop is also a fan of Mercedes, and by chance, he has passed through his hands. a W124 250TD estate car, imported into the United States from Portugal. A car that, even after standing for a decade, started practically at the touch of a button, and that is in great mechanical condition. Mind you, it was covered in dirt, spider webs, rodent feces, and dust. And of course, we have to attend the wonderful return of him to a glorious state.

The interior and underbody haven’t been shrouded in secrecy beyond the liberal use of all-purpose cleaner, degreaser, and steam cleaners – not necessarily in that order. Paint had scratches and swirls, in addition to a tremendously hardened lacquer. For this reason, a two-stage polishing was necessary, and a subsequent ceramic treatment for painting. The end result is a painting that shines like a mirror, with a deep and nuanced shine. The lines of the S124 make me fall in love again without remedy. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be on Wallapop.
