Suzuki thinks that subcompacts have not gone out of style, so it is producing a new Swift. Considered outside the limits of the United States, the offer is destined for the markets of India and South Africa, although it has also reached Europe and Australia.

The Japanese manufacturer is preparing the redesigned successor with enhanced technology and security.

An expressive perspective

The modern look of the current Swift would be maintained for the next generation with a similar silhouette and footprint. A large trapezoidal screen with bold LED headlights and a C-clamp intake graphic are featured up front.

A little further up, there is a clamshell bonnet which gives a clean look to the model, while the windshield has a faster tilt.

The rear door handles will use more traditional elements positioned lower, as evidenced by prototypes seen in development. The rear boasts a tailgate spoiler, and the outline is reminiscent of the first- and second-generation models.

cabin amenities

For this new model, the car is expected to use higher quality materials in the cabin. Improvements to space will be minimal as it retains similar dimensions to the outgoing car measuring 3,890mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,500mm tall on a 2,450mm wheelbase.

What it will have is a larger infotainment screen with the system Smart Play Pro + with Android Auto or Apple Car Play, voice assistance and OTA. Driver assists will also be enhanced with: 360 view camera, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition in select markets.

Platform and powertrains

The new Swift will ride on a revised version of the platform Heartect by Suzuki. It will have a more robust structure and a central airbag in the front seat to improve occupant protection in the event of a collision.

Revelation

Specialized sources indicate that the new generation Swift could debut this year with sales starting in the middle of 2023. The Sport model would arrive a few months later.
