Pagani has already unveiled its latest creature, it is called Utopia and embodies the third evolution of the super sports car concept according to the Italian firm. There are many changes released in this renewal, however the Pagani Utopia continues to rely on an excellent V12 engine of Mercedes-AMG origin. And Pagani not only stays true to this twelve-cylinder for its performance, its reliability or its history… but also for its delicious and unique exhaust sound.
From youtuber NM2255 today we can listen for the first time to Pagani Utopia, an event that was possible after “catch” the test unit of the model parked in Italy. In this way, and even for a short time, we can listen for the first time to the new evolution of the twelve-cylinder AMG, a 6.0 V12 Twin-Turbo engine capable of developing 864 hp of maximum power and 1,100 Nm of torque.
But in this video he is not the only Pagani that we can see… and hear, well the new Huayra Codalunga also appears in its spectacular presentation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This special edition of the Huayra as the end of the supercar makes use of a particular redesign of the exterior to pay homage to the cars that raced at Le Mans in the ’60s. Only 5 units of the Codalunga will be manufactured at a rate of 7 million euros each.
The engine that animates the Huayra Codalunga is also the 6.0 V12 Twin-Turbo from Mercedes-AMG, which allows us to enjoy an extra portion of melody V12. As a curiosity, this close relationship between Pagani and Mercedes starts with the launch of Pagani itself and the development of its first model. By then Horacio Pagani needed a motorcyclist capable of driving his first creature, resorting to the legendary pilot Juan Manuel Fangio – who was already a close friend of Horacio Pagani – to advise him on these matters.
It was the driver Juan Manuel Fangio who recommended Pagani to use V12 Mercedes engines. And to date Pagani has not wanted to use another mechanic in their cars
Fangio, who always maintained a close relationship with Horacio Pagani, did not hesitate to recommend that he contact Mercedes for the supply of V12 engines, thus beginning a relationship that has been in force since 1994.
