Spain: The Civil Guard receives a fleet of Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEVs

Mitsubishi announced the delivery of 165 cars to the Civil Guard of Spain, specifically the model Eclipse Cross PHEV.

It is a vehicle plug-in hybrid that is adapted to the needs of a police officer, as well as colors that identify the security body. There are no further details with the firm, but it has been confirmed that it will be used for «different Citizen Security units«.

Mitsubishi and the Civil Guard cars

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that Mitsubishi supplies cars to the Spanish Civil Guard. In fact, in recent years the body has used three signature models: ASX, Montero and another plug-in hybrid such as the Outlander.

In the case of Eclipse Cross, It is a compact SUV, with 4.54 meters long, a striking aesthetic and a plug-in hybrid train of 188 hp of power.

This configuration has a naturally aspirated engine 2.4 liters of displacement and 98HP plus two electric units, the front one with 82 CV and the rear one with 95. Indeed, it is a vehicle with all wheel drive without the need for physical connections between axes.


Thanks to that drivetrain it can reach a top speed of 162km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 in 10.9 seconds. In addition, it offers an electric range of 45 km and an environmental label from the DGT.
