The cheapest car on the market is no longer cheap, but is it still a bargain?

The market is still choppy. We are no longer surprised when a new car increases in price. In fact, the price increase in new cars is generalized and the exception is that of those models that maintain their prices, or have risen very little, since the beginning of the year.

In recent months we have told you about the car that has become the cheapest in the Spanish market. Until just a few days ago, it was possible to buy a Mitsubishi Space Star from €10,900, a price very similar to that of the Mitsubishi urban car at the beginning of the year, and even in recent years.

But the situation has changed. Mitsubishi has revised its promotions, to offer us a Mitsubishi Space Star from €12,150, more expensive, but also better equipped. In this way, the cheapest car on the market at the moment would be the Hyundai i10 from €10,800.

The Mitsubishi Space Star now has a more expensive offer, but also more equipped

It is no longer the cheapest, but it comes more equipped

Mitsubishi has revised its offers to propose us a Space Star financing from €12,150 and in cash from €14,400. The promoted version has a 71 hp gasoline engine with manual gearbox and a Motion equipment line. The Motion equipment line includes, of course, all the equipment available in the base version, which until recently started at €10,900, including 14″ alloy wheels, rain sensors and automatic lighting, air conditioning and hill start system.

Quality and aesthetic details, such as a leather-covered steering wheel and gear knob, cruise control, electric rear windows, a 4-speaker sound system and, above all, an entertainment system with a touch screen and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

If we want an even more equipped Mitsubishi Space Star, it is important to note that Mitsubishi has stock units with Kaiteki equipment that start at €13,500 and that, because they are stock cars, they would enjoy almost immediate delivery. Kaiteki adds 15″ wheels, front fog lights, automatic climate control, rear view camera and more elegant upholstery, among other improvements. At the time of writing this article, the Mitsubishi portal had 17 Space Star units listed in stock with Kaiteki equipment .

This Space Star is more expensive but includes – among other items of equipment – an entertainment system with compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
