Porsche has an electrified future. After recently taking a look at the future of the 718 Boxster EV, we got the chance to take a look at the upcoming update to the Taycan Sport Turismo.
This Taycan wagon has a hidden front bumper. The only visible parts there are the sensors for the driver assistance system. Looks like the updated style includes a revised splitter.

There’s also a revised hood that removes creases from the current design. Additionally, the headlights are now flush with the nose rather than placing them in tiny nacelles. The light strip connects the top and bottom of the running light.
In the profile (see comparison below), the refreshed one seems to have had very few changes. The lower side sills appear a bit thicker on the new model.
Changes at the rear are equally minor, at least on this development vehicle. The taillights appear a little thicker on the outer edges.
These photos don’t let us see inside the Taycan. Judging by the upgrades to other brands’ latest models, there may be adjustments to the switchgear. We don’t expect a design overhaul.
The powertrain changes are also a mystery. In general, Porsche included a slight power boost when refreshing the model.
Spy shots recently surfaced to show Porsche testing a GT version of the Taycan which is likely to be the new performance flagship in the lineup. It has a large front splitter but lacks the other changes to the nose that we see on this Sport Turismo development vehicle. The car also has carbon-ceramic brakes, attractively designed wheels and a fixed wing on the rear deck.
The Taycan Turbo S is already a strong player. The model already holds the lap record for electric vehicle production around the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7 minutes 33.3 seconds.
The electric boxster in the spy shot was recently spotted in the early stages of development. It wears more camouflage, and the body panels don’t fit. The new model won’t arrive until 2025, according to Porsche.
