Renault has the slippers you will ask for from the Three Wise Men

If you have a full wallet, you can hurry up. And if this is not the case, it would be the perfect request to be part of your list for the Three Wise Men. Renault has teamed up with Savoir-Faire Paris to shape some sneakers that you will want to have (yes or yes) in the closet because they are inspired by the Renault R5 Turbo.

It is another of the actions with which the French brand celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the Renault 5. A new tribute to its iconic urban focused, this time, on its sportier variant. More than just shoes inspired by the so-called ‘Fat Ass’, the Racing Shoe5 is a reinterpretation of the R5 Turbo in the form of footwear.

five models

The collection, as we said, is signed by the Savoir-Faire Paris brand, which specializes in making custom footwear. They will, therefore, be handmade shoes that will be part of a very limited edition. Following the emblematic liveries of the mythical Renault R5 Turbo, they have created five models: black, red, blue, white and blue/red, a combination that emulates the decoration of the famous Renault 5 Maxi Turbo designed to be approved as Group B.

In addition to the letter R (located on the tongue of the right shoe), the number 5 (located on the left) and the Turbo inscription on the outer sides, the Racing Shoe5 are a reference to the body lines of the Renault R5 Turbo with that rear tilt that the shoes show off. The side inserts, meanwhile, symbolize the sports car’s diamond-shaped air intakes. The interior is inspired by upholstery and the laces refer to seat belts.

25 pairs

Renault and Savoir-Faire Paris will only produce 25 pairs in total, which will have their own numbered box. They will be on sale at the Shinzo temporary store in the French capital, from December 2 to 6: each of them is priced at 555 euros.

Renault has defined these shoes as a “work of art to collect and display at home”. If we add to this the fervent market that exists around this type of footwear, it would not be surprising if they ended up becoming exhibition objects whose value could skyrocket (even more).
