While we eagerly await the Porsche Macan EV’s official debut, our spy photographers are still keen to unveil the details of the test vehicle. The new set of images offers a glimpse inside the electric SUV, capturing views both near and far.
Interestingly, the more telling photos appear to have been taken from afar. We’ve seen the interior of the Macan EV before, getting up close and personal to reveal the digital driver’s display and center screen. The layout isn’t far from the current combustion-powered Macans, although the digital panels on the center console and behind the wheel are an ode to their electric nature.

As the camera approaches the parked test vehicle, the occupant usually snaps the dash cover. Fortunately, we have a good image of the prototype in motion, capturing the dashboard section without the shutter. We can now see the top of the dashboard, showing the hours from the Sport Chrono Package and the round cutout for the driver’s display.
As for the exterior, Porsche has not been interested in disguising the exterior design of the Macan EV for a long time. These pictures show the SUV cutting through the Nurburgring, faux exhaust tips, and so on. The exaggerated headlight stickers do little to hide the true shape of the Tiger’s eyes. The same goes for the “chrome” trim on the D-pillars. The rearmost window must have swooped down, not up.
Porsche hasn’t been completely secretive about the Macan EV. The automaker confirmed it will punch the pavement with up to 603 horsepower and over 738 pound-feet of torque. It comes via a dual-motor setup driving all four wheels, with a 100 kWh battery pack providing power. The weight of the Macan EV is not yet known, but Porsche says it will offer a sporty rear bias distribution of 52 percent at the rear axle. Engineers at Stuttgart are also planning a single-motor version which will be rear-wheel drive.
Supply chain issues have delayed the Macan EV’s debut, but we don’t have to wait any longer. Production is slated for 2024, so expect it to be revealed in early 2023.
