Just over €3 a day: everything you need to get this bargain with the ECO label

The new car market does not seem to be going through its best moment: with increasingly higher prices and increasingly complex and large cars, the truth is that in 2022 the number of registrations closed at one of its lowest levels in the last decade, which gives a good account of the problem facing the automobile industry. However, there is still room for more logical, humble and cheap vehicles. You can also take one of them home for just over €3 a day, it has an ECO label and plenty of equipment for your day-to-day life. Is it one of the bargains of 2023?

The urban vehicle segment has already begun its electrification process, and although it is still relatively difficult to find 100% electric alternatives (despite the fact that there are already several models…) the truth is that hybrid or microhybrid models are already the majority, being more and more difficult to find models with a 100% thermal drive system. One of the models that has already gone electrified is the FIAT Panda, which is only available with a micro-hybrid type engine.

The FIAT Panda is already a veteran model on the market: its current generation has been with us since 2012, and despite having undergone various updates, cannot deny its more “analogical” character and its approach from more than a decade ago. This does not prevent the Panda from continuing to be a competent and attractive model for a certain buyer profile, especially for those who are looking for a vehicle with just enough for everyday life condensed into a small and urban size.

That is where the FIAT Panda comes into play, a model that is currently only available with 2-wheel drive versions and a 1.0 tricylindrical microhybridized engine. A priori it does not seem like the most exciting combination at the moment, but the truth is that this Panda, thanks to its price and its motorization, is undoubtedly one of the best options for urban commuting. What do we find for the little more than €3 a day What FIAT asks us to get one of these little ones?

For the price of a beer you get a FIAT Panda

It sounds like a slogan, but it is reality: with current promotions you can get hold of a Panda for €99 per month in 36 months, although you will have to pay an entry fee and, if you keep the car after 3 years, a final fee. In exchange you get a FIAT Panda Monotrim 1.0 of 70 CV Associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 12 V microhybrid system with which the Panda receives the DGT ECO label.

The benefits are mediocre (it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.9 seconds and barely exceeds a maximum speed of 160 km/h) but its consumption, in turn, is very low, achieving real averages in the city that rarely exceed 5.5 litres/100 km. The equipment of this Monotrim version is not exceptional, but it is sufficient for day to day thanks to standard elements such as air conditioning, USB radio with Bluetooth and 5-inch touch screen or 15-inch wheels.

To get this Panda, a rival to models like the KIA Picanto or the Hyundai i10, we will have to pay an entry of €3,826.87, 36 monthly installments of €99 and a final installment of €8,325.00 if we want to keep the car. These figures assume a TIN of 9.99% and an APR of 13.84%. This means that from an initial price of €12,713 we would end up paying a total price in installments of €16,082.72.
