Pagani C10 Showcases Gated Manual Gearbox, Design Details In New Teaser

Posted on

It may be September 2022 but we are gathered here to talk about a new car equipped with a gated manual transmission. Yes, the Pagani C10 will allow single-percenters to row their own gear in the most spectacular way. The only way the automaker can get around that is to install a V12, which the Huayra’s successor will have. The twin-turbo 6.0 liter AMG engine will be at the heart of the new hypercar, with a dual automatic clutch also available.

A new teaser video published on social media gives us a closer look at the C10, which will likely go by another name since the Huayra was originally known by its codename C9. The new Horacio Pagani performance engine seems to take cues from its predecessor with round headlights while retaining the rear center-mounted quad exhaust tips.

The curvaceous and low-key hypercar from Modena will also have leaf-like mirrors from the Zonda and Huayra up front. Spy shots have revealed a black version of the bronze centerlock wheels shown here, along with cuts in the camouflage for the side vents to cool the front brakes in the same vein as on the model to be replaced. As previously stated, special attention is paid to weight loss.

Originally announced in October 2021, the C10 will have about 40 horsepower more than the Huayra. Pagani’s latest masterpiece, the Codalunga, boasts 840 hp and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque that is channeled to the road via an Xtrac seven-speed sequential gearbox. Anyway, we’re curious to find out what kind of manual gearbox will handle all the oomph in the new monster. It’s unclear if the manual version will have the same power as the automatic model or if selecting stick shift will limit the V12’s output.

Long sold out, the Pagani C10 will have a total production run of 280 to 300 cars, including all versions (coupe, roadster, special edition). Although the car has yet to be disclosed, the Italian manufacturer said almost a year ago that the demand coming in from US customers was enough to fill the order book.
