An icon of hybrid cars could rise from the ashes on November 16

There will be quite a few new vehicle launches over the next few weeks. The reason is the return of the Hall of Los Angeles, important for the US market. However, the teaser we just got to know might not have anything to do with this room. The teaser in question has been published on the Toyota Japan Instagram account, and it shows the silhouette of a new vehicle. The “hybrid reborn”, can be read around the optics of the car. Does this mean the renewal of hybrid cars icon?

And by icon of hybrid cars I mean exactly the Toyota Prius. The fourth generation has passed unnoticed at the commercial level, and one of the reasons has been that practically the entire Toyota range is already hybrid. The need for a flagship hybrid car was theoretically gone, because the technology is already mainstream. The world didn’t seem to need a hybrid of quirky design and such personal looks, and sales seem to have reflected that. However, Toyota might seem willing to release a fifth-generation Prius.

The Prius could be transformed into a statuesque, powerful and dynamic sports sedan.

The teasers show a fastback-looking vehicle, with highly aerodynamic bodywork and design cues similar to those of the bZ family of electric cars. This vehicle would be an ambassador of the brand’s hybrid technology, which continues to be a benchmark in reliability, performance and consumption today. However, instead of a “geek” cut vehicle – said in the best sense – Toyota could present us with a sculptural vehicle that amazes with its design and performance. Next November 16 we will leave doubts.
