In addition, he confirmed that the three detainees are also Peruvians. “The three detainees and the victim belonged to a gang dedicated to various crimessuch as kidnappings, robberies with intimidation and other associated crimes, “he said.
On the other hand, Héctor Barros, South metropolitan regional prosecutor, admitted that «the facts are super strong and violent. We are talking about a person who was practically tortured before death, even being shot while alive, wrapped in a blanket, put in the vehicle while still alive and set on fire with accelerant. When the fire starts, that person is alive.”
Main theory of attack
Recently, a T13 report showed the main theory that is handled regarding the causes of the crime, in addition, it showed unpublished videos of the band.
According to the aforementioned media, part of the group would have been involved in a chase and shooting at the end of 2021 after robbing a bank. Back then, they stopped their leader, Frank Toledo Delpinstaying behind bars.
In this context, Edwin Jara, was left in charge of the band. The 25-year-old, who had been convicted and expelled from the country twice, was doing well, bragging about it on social media. This would have caused the annoyance of his former boss. Jara only managed to be 9 months as leader, before being burned alive inside a car.

It was a little over a month ago, in the early morning hours of September 28, the members of the gang kept their then-leader detained for several hours inside a capital city, where he would have been tortured.
As can be seen in the macabre videos shared by the aforementioned media, Jara’s body was removed from the building wrapped in a carpet around 01:50 am and transferred to a vehicle. It was in the commune of San Joaquín, where after shooting him, they set the car on fire and left him on the spot while he burned.
“This criminal gang fell into that dynamic, with respect to wanting to approach and take control of this criminal gang, which is why the victim, the leader, is murdered by members of his own gang with a previous leader who was already in pretrial detention for a violent crime,” Abatte told T13.
It is worth mentioning that, while the investigation is being carried out, all the detainees will remain in preventive detention until the resolution of the case.
