The Aston Martin DBX707 debuted in February this year carrying a modified 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces nearly 700 horsepower. With this performance SUV, the British brand finally had adequate competition against the Lamborghini Urus and the first Ferrari utility, the Purosangue. But is it good on track? Chris Harris delivers his verdict in a new video.
Renowned automotive journalist and reviewer begins the video with a emphatic statement – “I don’t like SUVs.” However, Aston Martin’s new monster SUV inspired him to give this segment another chance. But first, Harris explains what he doesn’t like about SUVs – “they’re too big, too heavy, too tall, they look ridiculous.” With that in mind – can a high-performance DBX impress Harris?

In general, upper teeth the hosts were impressed with the level of performance this giant SUV delivers despite its size and weight. He also likes the chassis. The engine calibration isn’t the best, says Harris, but the vehicle is as fast as the Audi RS6 Avant on the track. Of course, this is purely subjective perception but Harris also said that he thinks the DBX707 is faster than the Lamborghini Urus. How about Purosangue? Nobody’s driven the Maranello go-fast SUV yet, but hopefully we’ll have that opportunity soon.
What we do know, however, is that Aston’s super SUV is very fast. Motor1.comEditor-in-Chief Seyth Miersma tested the hardcore family carrier in Italy this spring and believes “the DBX707 feels like a worthy contender for the title of super SUV king.” This is the same league in which the Bentley Bentayga Speed and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT also fall, although the two models may target different audiences. Nevertheless, we’d love to see all three, along with the Urus and Purosangue, in something like the world’s fastest drag race for an SUV.
