Dacia continues to have great bargains, cars with the ECO label, cheap, spacious and a negligible cost per kilometer

Posted on

We have been warning about this for a long time. Dacia has ceased to be that brand of affordable cars, tremendously cheap, and far below the rest of the alternatives on the market that it was in the past, leaving ground for brands that are growing at an unstoppable rate, such as MG Motor. A few years ago, you could buy a Dacia Sandero for less than €7,000 and today the cheapest is over €13,000.

But we have also explained why this has happened. First, because since 2020 the prices of all new cars have skyrocketed. Second, because most of Dacia’s products are no longer the cheap cars of yesteryear, they have gained technology and quality with their updates and, above all, their generational changes. Third, because Dacia has been eliminating the cheapest versions of its offer, the “bare” cars.

Y the reason why many Dacia are still a bargain is called ECO-G. Offer ECO label alternatives from the cheapest versions of its range.

Dacia’s prices have skyrocketed in recent years, but for what they offer in their range they still fall short of most of their rivals in the market

What you should know about Dacia’s ECO label

As we told you, Dacia offers ECO label alternatives from the cheapest versions of its range. Currently, all Dacia’s ECO label is based on bifuel engines, which can run on either gasoline or LPG. Dacia’s bifuel engines are called ECO-G and are based on a 100 HP engine. It is not a powerful engine, nor one that lends itself to too many joys, but it is reliable, robust and sufficient for the city.

We are not going to explain in depth how a bifuel car with LPG works, for this we recommend reading our guide on LPG. But essentially we can tell you that these cars have two tanks, one for gasoline and the other for gas (LPG), and can run on either gas or gasoline. LPG is much cheaper than gasoline, so if we try to always refuel with LPG and use it on our journeys, our cost per kilometer will always be – at current LPG prices – lower than that of gasoline.

All Dacia ECO-G engines have the ECO label, unlike the rest of the gasoline engines that have the C label.

The jump to the Dacia hybrid

If you read us regularly, you will have seen that on numerous occasions we have told you about the new Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140 as the great novelty of Dacia this year and, without a doubt, a car that will become one of the most interesting hybrids and one of the great launches of 2023. Dacia will launch its first hybrid based on a tremendously spacious and practical minivan, very economical for its size and with the possibility of having 5 or 7 seats.

We still do not know the final prices of the Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140, but we have been able to make a very realistic estimate for which we are convinced that it will be around €25,000 and, of course, it will have an ECO label.

It will not be a cheap car. Not as much as the ECO-G that also have an ECO label. Right now you can buy a Dacia Jogger for €16,939 and from the cheapest version it already has an ECO-G engine and therefore an ECO label. But, if we compare it with other hybrids, the Dacia will undoubtedly be the best hybrid for those looking for a spacious hybrid car. There will be no rival in the market with that price.

This is the range with the Dacia ECO label

That said, we detail how the range with the Dacia ECO label looks:
