Collectively, many petrolheads are convinced that a more powerful and faster car is objectively better than a lower performance car. In quantitative terms, there is no doubt about it. However, in quantitative terms the film is very different. A 500bhp sports car is tremendously effective and fast, but its limit is so high that many drivers won’t be able to get the most out of it – not even on the track. However, with a slow car, the opposite is true.
And perhaps it is the reason why sports cars like a simple Mazda MX-5 with just over 110 hp are so grateful. A “slow” car can be tremendous fun, especially with a good set-up and good machine-driver communication. And it is that it is easy to reach the limit of a less powerful car, without putting ourselves in danger, without endangering other drivers and without our abilities behind the wheel being overwhelmed. On circuits like the mythical Nürburgring Nordschleife, this is even a great safety measure.
Among the greatest hits in the video, a Lada Niva, a Volkswagen Amarok and a Renault Kangoo.
In the compilation that we leave you on these lines you will be able to verify with your own eyes if this thesis is true. Is a compilation of videos recorded throughout 2022 on the Nordschleife of “slow” cars at aggressive shooting rates. In this compilation you will see pick-ups, SUVs, urban… and in general cars that are not appropriate to go “with a knife”. Not everyone seems overly aware of their abilities, but that’s a topic for another day. Do not miss it.
