If we talk about Ford Escape, you may not know what car we are talking about, but what if we tell you that the Escape is the twin brother of the Ford Kuga? The first thing that stands out in this new Ford Escape is the redesign that the front has undergone, a change that clearly anticipates a new design language and that will surely be fully transferred to the European Ford Kuga. This revision of the exterior affects the LED headlights, the grill or the air intakes, which achieves a more modern and sporty image, especially in the ST-Line finishes.

Inside, the main change is found in the new multimedia system installed on the dashboard. This is the Ford SYNC 4 system and uses a 13.2-inch touch screen in landscape position, which promises a far superior experience in terms of infotainment and connectivity. Added to this interface is a fully digital instrument cluster with 12.3-inch.
But in this new Escape there are also novelties that are not seen at first sight, especially highlighting the review that has been carried out of the nods to driving to make them more effective and capable. Thus, we find an endowment that includes adaptive cruise control with lane keeping assistant, emergency braking with the ability to perform evasive maneuvers, presence alert in the blind spot, cross traffic alert or 360º camera.
The engines available in the Escape will continue to be those already known in the North American market, so we will have to wait until the presentation of the new Kuga to know how its specific range for Europe will be articulated. Having said that, everything indicates that the Ford Kuga will maintain its commitment to hybrid engines in Europe gasoline, offered in 190 hp hybrid version with front or all-wheel drive and in 225 hp plug-in hybrid version with front wheel drive. At the moment the Kuga is also offered together with a 150 hp 1.5 EcoBoost gasoline petrol engine and a 120 hp 2.0 ecoBlue diesel engine, but both engines could disappear from the range – especially the diesel -, in order to give greater prominence to hybrid engines.
