The first official preview of the Maserati GranCabrio offers a good glimpse of what the future convertible will bring. The development of the new convertible that will be launched in 2023 takes place in the streets of Modena, Italy.

Both models have fenders that rise above the rest of the hood. In profile, both cars have an undulating sculpture that falls along the beltline and then arches up at the rear.

Maserati has already confirmed an electric version of the GranCabrio also by 2023. Assuming it shares a powertrain with the GranTurismo Folgore EVthere would be three electric motors that would provide a total of 751hp (560 kW) and 995 lb-ft (1,350 Nm). For the coupé, this powertrain takes the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds and provides a top speed of 198 mph (320 kph). It includes a 92.5 kWh battery and 83 kWh of that is usable.

Like many other car manufacturers, Maserati plans to make its entire range of cars electric by 2030.
