For €26,900, with a 640-l boot, DSG and ECO label, this is one of the best anti-SUVs on the market

We continue to analyze the market in search of car offers that, without reaching bargains, are presented as really competent alternatives, as they offer us many desirable qualities in a family car, on a tight budget. Family members derived from compact or sedan are one of the most interesting alternatives for those looking for space, without destroying the household finances and without resorting to the SUV. They are cheaper and more spacious than an SUV and often have a sleek aesthetic.

And among all the relatives derived from a sedan, our favorite is still, without a doubt, the Skoda Octavia Combi. 640 liters of trunk, family body and therefore a much larger trunk without extra cost compared to the sedan, and a 110 hp micro-hybrid engine with an ECO label in the cheapest version.

The one from Skoda undoubtedly has all the arguments to be one of the most interesting options for a family looking for a spacious car and access to Low Emission Zones with restrictions for vehicles that do not have an ECO or Zero Emissions label.

The anti-SUV is a family member with an ECO label

For €26,900 you can access a Skoda Octavia Combiwith ECO label, micro-hybrid engine of 110 CV of power, DSG automatic transmission and Selection trim, with an offer that is subject to financing the purchase at the dealer (a minimum of €20,000 with Volkswagen Bank GmbH.

As we told you, its sedan version is also available, a Skoda Octavia that with this same configuration also starts at €26,900.

Skoda also offers an even cheaper version that, in our opinion, is not as attractive, because it does not have a DSG change, a micro-hybrid engine, or an ECO label. The Skoda Octavia Combi with a 110 hp TSI engine and manual gearbox is available from €26,641.

Looking for other alternatives to the cheap SUV

  • The Family Kia Ceed for €18,961 It is our preferred option, one of the cheapest on the market and also one of the most practical. Its trunk is as spacious as that of the Octavia, but its cheapest version does not have an ECO label, although it is true that with a more comfortable budget we can access micro-hybrid engines with an ECO label.
  • His “cousin” Family Hyundai i30 from €21,695 It is another of the most interesting options and, again, with a more comfortable budget, it has micro-hybrid versions with an ECO label.
  • If what we are looking for is a true hybrid, the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports for €26,400 offers us a family car with an ECO label and a complete hybrid system, with the guarantee of the manufacturer that sells the most hybrids in Spain and that has been developing and betting on this technology for more years.
