Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 Returns For Third Generation

If three-axle trucks and SUVs tickle your fancy, there’s one company you can turn your attention to. We’re talking Hennessey Performance, and over the years we’ve talked about vehicles that come from tuners – all of them have six wheels and make a lot of power.

The latest 6×6 truck from Hennessey is this: the new VelociRaptor 6×6. It’s now in its third-generation model and is based on the current Ford F-150 Raptor, which debuts in February 2021. The Texas-based tuner said that the first units of the six-wheeled vehicle were delivered earlier this month.

Unlike the 600-hp Hennessey VelociRaptor with only two axles, the VelociRaptor 6×6 only produces 558 horsepower (416 kilowatts) and 672 pound-feet (911 Newton-meters) of torque. It has more torque than the VelociRaptor with fewer wheels, but ultimately makes a big jump over the stock Raptor’s 450 hp (336 kW) and 510 lb-ft (692 Nm).

Beyond the power boost, Hennessey has also upgraded the standard Raptor with “advanced” Fox suspension and dual-lock rear axle, which it claims adds 50 percent more traction grip. The additional axle also allows Hennessey to extend the bed from stock 5.5 feet (1.67 meters) to 8 feet (2.4 meters).

The new Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 is also a few inches taller than the standard Raptor. This is made possible through a combination of three-inch lift, upgraded 20-inch Hennessey wheels and 37-inch off-road tires.

“Everything is bigger and faster in Texas and our VelociRaptor 6×6 takes this concept to the extreme! Building on the capability, power and presence of our VelociRaptor truck, our new six-wheel drive offering will delight customers across the US and beyond with power. and the ability to go anywhere,” said John Hennessey, the company’s founder and CEO.

The third-generation Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 retails for $399,950, including the base Ford F-150 Raptor. The money includes all the upgrades you see here (and beyond), plus a comprehensive 3-year/36,000 mile warranty.
