August 26th is International Dog Day and Honda is celebrating in the UK by introducing some new accessories to make your dog car even better to drive.
Honda sells pet-friendly accessories as a package consisting of a rear seat rail, rubber floor mat, luggage mat, collapsible cargo pad, and a luggage step guard that protects paint. Sets are available for five models. Companies mix and match pieces depending on the vehicle. The table below is the easiest way to understand the offers.

Honda said the decision to offer the accessory came because of a positive response to the company’s April Fools joke in 2022. The company showed off a fake concept for the dog-friendly front seats. It had a food dispenser, slots to hold the stomach, extra long base, and attachment points for the harness. The most fantastic feature is the air conditioner blowing out of the side bolster.

In Japan, the automaker has a Honda Dog accessory line (gallery above) specifically for pet-friendly parts. There’s even a sling that attaches to the seat so your dog can ride in style.
Honda’s positive relationship with dogs is not a new phenomenon. In 2010, the company introducing the Dog Friendly package for Elements in America. That includes a cage in the rear cargo area with a bed, a spill-proof water bowl, and an electric fan. Elsewhere, the vehicle was fitted with a floor mat in the shape of a dog bone and a special badge showing the profile of a dog.
