Mexico: Trailer runs out of brakes and causes an accident leaving three dead and seven injured in Toluca-Atlacomulco

A tragic accident occurred on the highway Toluca-Atlacomulco left a balance of three dead and seven injured after a trailer ran out brakes impacting seven vehicles.


According to official reports, the accident occurred at kilometer 27+800, at the height of Paraje San Jerónimo la Cañada.

Without the brakes, the driver of the larger vehicle lost control of the unit, and two sedans came under the two heavy units involved, one of them it was a cargo truck and the other a pipe.

Paramedics from various institutions came to the scene to treat the injured. It was previously disclosed that three people died and six were injured. One of the victims died on the way to the hospital.

Reports indicate that a tractor truck assembled with a nacelle that was carrying sand collided with seven private vehicles. Two of the deceased died at the scene.

The affectation of the highway reaches 4 kilometers from Toluca in the direction of Atlacomulco. Work was carried out by emergency teams, the Forensic Medical Service and personnel from the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM).
