After the video that we bring you today, you will never look at electric cars with the same eyes again. The reign of the electric hyperpot has begun at the hands of the Pininfarina Battista, an electric 1,900 CV related to the Rimac Nevera, which has just shown that the dizzying performance figures promised in its presentation are reality. Not suitable for sensitive stomachs, the Pininfarina Battista is the new king of acceleration and it will be very difficult for someone to dispute that title.
Serial production of the Pininfarina Battista has already begun at the Cambiano (Italy) factory, which is why the Italian firm has made the official debut of its new electric hypercar in Dubai, and more specifically on the Dubai Autodrome international circuit. There Pininfarina took a unit from the Battista to show that they were not going to bluff when talking about the benefits of this car, getting smash no less than 3 records in one sitting.
The first record achieved was that of acceleration, since the Pininfarina Battista has done 0-100 km/h in 1.86 seconds. In that same launch and with full throttle, the Battista has obtained his second record by doing 0-200 km/h in 4.75 seconds. And to finish this consignment of records, the third record reached by the Battista has been produced in deceleration, braking from 100 to 0 km/h in a distance of only 31 meters. Considering these marks, The Pininfarina is the fastest series production car in the worldalthough not the fastest since that brand is still in the hands of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and its 490 km / h.
That said, we won’t have to wait too long to see a production electric car fight for a speed record either, as the Battista’s twin brother, the Rimac Nevera, has already proven capable of reaching 412 km/h.
And as we said at the beginning, It will be very difficult for anyone to improve the marks obtained by Battista, since the supremacy of the electric in acceleration and traction capacity have been amply demonstrated. The increase in power experienced by the sports car segment has seen how the irruption of the electric motor has meant a jump to figures around 2,000 hp, accompanied by dizzying torque figures (2,300 Nm) and a sophisticated scheme all-wheel drive that allows not to give a millisecond in acceleration, nor a millimeter in braking.
