It’s been a minute since we saw a prototype Rolls-Royce Specter in the wild. The luxury brand still has vehicles wrapped in text-laden camouflage which of course is eye-catching, not that the big coupe will go unnoticed. every wraps while turning rounds at the Nürburgring.
We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of the first Specter teaser. At the time, we had a legitimate spy photo sighting as well as an official image and announcement of Rolls-Royce’s Specter progress. We even had the chance to drive the rifle in the Specter prototype, and now, we see the electric coupe looking perfectly flat through the corners of the Nordschleife. This is where, as we last heard, suspension tuning is the focus of the Specter’s current development.

In addition to action on the famous race track, our spy crew captured the test car in a more relaxed setting on nearby German roads. This allows for some close-up views of the Specter’s interior, although much of it is still covered. We got a glimpse of the interior with almost the same lid back in August, although this shot offers a clearer view of the dashboard and digital displays. There are definitely some similarities to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, especially with the vent setup and center stack. However, the display looks like it will be merged behind a single screen, giving the car a cockpit mirror that is similar to some BMW models.
Rolls-Royce has remained tight-lipped about performance metrics, and to the automaker’s credit, leaks and rumors are kept to a minimum. We know it uses the company’s Architecture of Luxury platform it shares with Cullinan and Phantom, but it was modified to add power, no doubt to bring a hefty battery-electric powertrain. Our first driving experience revealed an “unreal and effortless pool of torque, pushing the big four-seater up front with the ease of propulsion.” A dual motor setup offering something north of 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) is expected.
The full reveal will come later in 2023, so stay tuned for more spy photos and teasers before we get the full reveal.
