There are many of us who dream of the continuation of certain models in these times, only some of those dreamers put it on paper. This is the case of the designer Theophilus Chinbetter known as Theottle, and who has wanted to give it a new life the long-awaited Alfa Romeo Giulietta no longer only as a compact, but also as a sedan. and we want that the italian firm take action on the matter.
We are talking about the last iteration of the Giulietta in 2010 taking the form of a compact, thus leaving behind its past as a coupe and saloon. Its final blows were in 2020 and, since then, Alfa Romeo has shown no signs of recovering it. However, the situation could change after joining the Stellantis group and having suitable platforms to give life to a new Giulietta.
This is how you imagine the hypothetical new Alfa Romeo Giulietta, even as a sedan
And part of the homework has been done to the Italian-French consortium by our protagonist, Theottle, who has taken the new Tonale as a point of reference. With this at stake, not only is there a commitment to a fresher future and with a more immediate arrival at Alfa Romeo, but also that design language is ahead that the brand will use in the coming years.
Both points are confirmed by the presence of the compact SUV in the Alfa Romeo range and the slight update of the Giulia and Stelvio that anticipate an upcoming end of the cycle. Thus, it makes a lot of sense that the Italian house once again resorted to the compact segment to continue scratching sales together with the Tonale and a hypothetical utility, and the truth is that Theophilus Chin’s proposal is quite convincing.
The front of this render uses the same one that we find in the Tonale, showing the same elongated pilots and the mythical triangle of the firm. The side is smooth and without too much ornamentation, displaying the typical five-spoke wheels, letting the rear take center stage using, once again, defense and lighting signature of the Italian SUV.
And in the sedan format we find the same procedure except that in this case using the Giulia as a starting point, although shorter. The configuration here becomes four-door, and shows a very harmonious design that could put the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan in serious trouble, especially if we take into account the premium positioning that Alfa Romeo seeks.
But, Would a new Giulietta really be plausible? Stellantis has to its credit the necessary ingredients for the recipe, such as the Peugeot 308 platform and plenty of engines to offer a very complete range of options. In this way, the hypothetical return of the Italian compact could be led, perfectly, by mechanical diesel, gasoline, plug-in hybrids, electric and even one to settle with the surname QV.
In addition to taking into account Alfa Romeo’s strategy of not only modernizing itself but also mercilessly attacking its rivals, the presence of a C-segment compact can help, and a lot. Be that as it may, for now we are facing the fantasy of an ingenious designer, but it may be that his conception is already in the firm’s plans and it is only a matter of time before we see the first signs of a production version.
