There are more and more Tesla Semi seen on the streets following the manufacturer’s handover event earlier in the month. Now the user Tesla Owners Silicon Valley on Twitter shared a couple of videos of a truck driving in Modesto California with Frito-Lay paint.

Despite the fact that the quality of the records is not the best, it is possible to perfectly visualize the color of the paint. The driver who filmed the truck also drives a Tesla, and allows listening to the futuristic sound of electric motors.

This is not the first time a Tesla Class 8 truck owned by PepsiCo has been seen. A couple of days ago a video of a Pepsi-branded Semi going quietly was uploaded to Reddit.

PepsiCo is one of the first companies to have a Tesla Semis lot of production. Mark O’Connellvice president of the beverage company, commented in a recent interview that they are deploying 36 trucks at this time, 15 in Modesto and 21 in Sacramento.

PepsiCo’s order was for 100 units in 2017, but they are still waiting for the rest to be used for deliveries to Walmart and grocery stores like Kroger and Albertsons.

According to O’Connell, Semi can transport Frito Lay food products for a few 425 miles, but in case of heavier loads the trips would be shorter, some 100 miles.

The manager said that all the Semis delivered to them will have a range of 500 miles and that there is no telling when the 300-mile variants will arrive.

This truck was revealed in 2017 and, after several delays, began to be seen on the roads in late 2022, with a production ramp up expected by 2023.

The Tesla Semi has an estimated range of 500 miles on one charge and a reported battery capacity of 1 MWh and a charge rate of up to 1 MW.
