With a total of 65,966 units sold, October registered, for the third consecutive month, an increase in sales of passenger cars and SUVs. If it is compared with the month of October of the year 2019, at the beginning of the pandemic, 93,954 units were registered, that is, 29.8% more.
Although sales have been maintained, we should not settle down, with a total volume of registrations of 666,247 units, 5.8% less than a year ago.
The semiconductor crisis and the current economic uncertainty keep the industry unable to resume the sales of three years ago.
20% of the sales for the month of October correspond to the 10 best-selling cars of the month (the Top 10 adds a total of 13,347 units).
The sales attention is reflected in two demands: first is that the difference in sales between the 10 best-selling models is very low and the second is the SUV (Sport Utility Wagon) they continue to be the segment with the most reflected sales.
Cars that pollute the most
The channel registrationsincreased sales in the business channel (+22.1%) and rent a car (+39%).
Anfac revealed that the new cars that were sold in the month of October are more polluting. Giving an emissions figure of 120.4 grams per kilometer traveled, while a year ago they were 0.3% lower.
Diesel continues to drop
Although sales with emissions rose, alternative fuels continue to reach the market. Last month the registrations of electric cars (pure and plug-in hybrids), non-plug-in hybrids, hydrogen cars, CNG, LPG and LNG are almost half (45%).
Gasoline-powered cars close the month of October with 39.8%, while 17.5% is for diesel.
