At Diariomotor we are great lovers of LEGO, especially those sets specially designed for adults, whether they are from the Technic or Creator Expert environment. The latest addition to this range was until now the LEGO Technic Formula 1, but now it is the new set of the iconic Vespa 125. After the original FIAT 500, the Vespa is one of the absolute icons of the Italian industry, and one of the keys to mobilizing the population. Now it has become a precious set of more than 1,100 pieces and a lot of retro flavor.
This set of LEGO Creator Expert – even if it is sold simply as “LEGO for adults” – celebrates the 75th anniversary of the iconic Italian Vespa. It is based on a Vespa 125 from the first series, painted in an iconic light blue color, which many associate with the classic moped. Set it has a total of 1,106 pieces, which should give us a few afternoons to build. The construction itself should be relatively simple, with hardly any complex building elements or techniques.
The kickstarter is where it should be. It is impossible to dissociate it from the classic Vespa.
It is a relatively large set and loaded with details: it has a steering system, a functional easel and a removable cover for the single-cylinder engine, which is visible when we remove it. A spare wheel made of plastic bricks is mounted under the handlebars. The construction of the set is completed with a detailed double seat, a handlebar with its characteristic headlight and a rear luggage rack. A travel bag with flowers and a helmet are the final details of this beautiful set.
If you are going to expose it – something that seems practically obligatory to me – keep in mind that Once assembled it measures 22 cm in height, 35 cm in length and 12 cm in width. It goes on sale next March 1 and will have a relatively contained cost: 99 euro. An ideal gift for motorcycle fans, and an ideal complement to the classic FIAT 500 set. Together with the Ducati Panigale, the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, the BMW R 1200 GS and the BMW M 1000 RR, it becomes the fifth licensed set of a motorcycle presented by LEGO in recent years.
