The first McLaren Artura arrives in Chile from the hand of Quantum Group

The electrification in Chili is advancing little by little and an example of this is the arrival of a super market like McLaren with its arthur, a plug-in hybrid sports car from the Quantum Group, with a premiere in experience e.

This specimen is in charge of replacing the 570S as the entry model to the range, and adds to the models available in Chile: 720 Y 765 (coupé and Spyder), as well as the McLaren GT.

Its price is 275 thousand dollars and it is the direct rival of the new Ferrari 296 GTB, which is also available in the country.

The Artura is the firm’s first plug-in hybrid, which has a hybrid system light that is based on a V6 engine compact installed longitudinally in the center of the car, complemented by an electric block for immediate acceleration capacity.

It is mounted on the MCLA architecture (McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture), where it installs the 3.0-liter Twin Turbo V5 that offers 577 hp and 584 Nm of torque.


It is accompanied by a 93.7 Hp electric motor and 408 Nm of torque for a total of 671 HP and 719 torque, according to McLaren.

These mills are managed by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear axle. These figures allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and from 0 to 200 in 8.3 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 330 km/h.

Power for the electric motor comes from a 7.4 kWh battery pack, which is installed under the seats. The electric autonomy is 30 kilometers. In addition, you can recharge a 80% in 2.5 hours.

Among the mechanical improvements, McLaren Artura boasts a suspension with adaptive dampers, carbon/ceramic brakes with 390 mm discs at the front and 380 at the rear, with six and four-piston calipers. ADA driving assistance was also incorporated, as well as remote updates.

In terms of measurements, they are similar to the 570S, that is, it measures 4,539mm long, 1913mm wide, 1,193mm high and it has 2,640mm between axles.

The exterior design features signature DNA, including gooseneck headlights and large air intakes on the sides ahead of the rear wheels.


Inside it has a minimalist composition, the steering wheel has no buttons, since the controls have been moved to the side, to the digital instrument panel. It also features a vertical touch screen, where the MIS II infotainment is controlled, which manages the navigation, telephone, air conditioning and audio.

A series of ADAS driver assistances say present: intelligent adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, high beam assistant and traffic sign recognition.

That’s not all McLaren Artura features a new Clubsport seat, which pivots as one through an elliptical arc when adjusted, combining under-thigh support, seat height and backrest in one motion.
