The SUV that you may not know, with a Zero label, good trunk, for €30,400, or €250/month, what is the fine print?

Today there are two formulas to get the much-prized Zero Emissions label: buy an electric car or a plug-in hybrid. The latter usually enjoy a moderate electric range, generally around 50 kilometers, enough for short urban journeys. But they also have a gasoline engine with which to travel hundreds of kilometers without stopping to refuel and, therefore, less dependent on fast chargers on long-distance trips.

Mitsubishi currently has only two products in its range, one of the cheapest cars on the market and also an SUV with a Zero label that stands as one of the cheapest plug-in hybrids on the market. Mitsubishi will receive a third model this year, a Mitsubishi ASX that in practice, for better or for worse, is a Renault Captur with the Mitsubishi emblem, which will probably become its most interesting and best-selling product.

But today we will talk about the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, an SUV with a Zero Emissions label, a good trunk, for €30,400. What is the fine print?

An SUV with a Zero label for €30,400

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a plug-in hybrid SUV, which has a single mechanism, with 188 hp of combined power and all-wheel drive. Its 2.4-liter displacement gasoline engine delivers 98 CV, so that much of its power is provided by two electric motors, one at the front with 82 CV and the other at the rear with 95 CV. Its electric autonomy is 45 kilometers, with a 13.8 kWh battery, but its total autonomy, using the gasoline engine, exceeds 600 kilometers.

To put it in context, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a 4.54 meter long SUV, 10 centimeters longer than a Peugeot 3008 and 18 centimeters more than a SEAT Ateca. And its trunk without being particularly large for its size, with a capacity of 404 liters, is indeed ample for a plug-in hybrid.

As standard, and from its most basic version, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is already very well equipped, including dual zone climate control, 18″ alloy wheels, rear view camera and parking sensor, heated front seats, entertainment system and parking sensor. rain and lights

This is the offer of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Currently, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is available from €30,400, which is achieved by applying all the discounts, financing at the dealership, and the €5,000 bonus of the MOVES Plan with the delivery of an old car for scrapping. Mitsubishi also offers a financing option with a fee of €250/month and higher fees (with a proposed financing simulation of €425/month), which would be the following:

  • Fee of €250/month, for 36 months, with an entry fee of €6,495.06, an initial fee of €231.67 and a final fee of €21,400.54. At a fixed borrowing rate of 9.2%, APR of 11.36% and an opening commission of 3.8%, the total price in installments amounts to €37,535.66.
  • Fee of €425/month, for 60 months, with a down payment of €10,021.74, and an initial fee of €404.9. At a fixed borrowing rate of 9.2%, APR of 11.48% and an opening commission of 3.8%, the total price in installments amounts to €36,276.01.

Today it is one of the most interesting economic plug-in hybrids on the market, but not the cheapest. For example, the MG EHS is available from €27,980including discounts for financing and MOVES Plan.

In the used market we can also find other cheap and interesting plug-in hybrids, for less than €30,000.being one of the most recommended proposals, curiously, also from Mitsubishi, which was one of the first promoters of the plug-in hybrids with the Mitsubishi Outlander:
