US: Kia Niro EV 2023 starts at $40,745 and there are two versions

Specifications Kia Niro EV American were presented in April this year. The manufacturer will offer it with three powertrains: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric. Now, KIA published prices for hybrid and plug-in variants starting at US$40,745.

Niro EV will be offered in two versions: wind and wave. The latter is the upper level starting at $45,745. Niro includes 201 HP electric motor powered by a battery 64.8 kWh for a range of 253 miles. In addition, it can be recharged from 10 to 80% in just 45 minutes.

Both versions have extensive safety features, including lane-follow assist, blind-spot collision avoidance and more. The Wind comes standard with automatic climate control dual-zone, auto-sensing windshield wipers and a power liftgate.

Also, the headlights will have LED projector, fog lights, LED interior lighting, heated steering wheel and more. If you want more, the preserve package by 1300 Dollars adds heated outboard rear seats and a heat pump system.

The entry version with the powertrain cheaper than the EV, starting at $27,785. A little above the Niro SX with a starting price of $33,785. The plug-in hybrid starts at $35,035 for the entry-level version, with the SX Touring going up to $40,785.

The 2023 Niro is larger than the model it replaces and has a new design that gives the crossover a “airfoil” on the side. Inside, it has two 10.25” screens on the dash, one for the driver and one for the infotainment.

Its increased size allows for greater cargo capacity and passenger space, while designers reduced the model’s coefficient of drag.
