USA: Fedex driver is arrested for the kidnapping and murder of a girl in Texas

Last Friday a driver of fedex was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder of a 7-year-old girl who was missing after disappearing from her home earlier in the week, police said.

The girl was found dead on Friday night, December 2, according to Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin in an appearance before the media.

“It hurts our hearts to know that this girl died,” Akin said this Friday. “It’s one of the most difficult investigations I’ve ever been involved in because it’s a girl. And every time a girl dies, it’s a blow to the heart”.

The girl, identified as Athena Strand, was reported missing last Wednesday and the authorities began a search procedure for the wise County, northwest of Fort Worth. Authorities believe she was killed within an hour of the abduction that occurred in her family’s driveway, 60 feet from her home.

the driver is Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, is being held in the county jail on charges of murder and aggravated kidnapping. Bail was set at $1.5, according to Akin.

He works as a driver for FedEx and was allegedly making a home delivery of the victim at the time he disappeared.

For now, the possible reason for the kidnapping is unknown and they said that Horner did not know the family or the minor. The cause of the child’s death is being investigated.

The mother said on Facebook that “a sick and cruel monster” he took his daughter away from him”with no reason”.

In a statement to CNN, FedEx expressed its condolences.

Words cannot describe our shock and grief at the reports surrounding this tragic event. First of all, our thoughts are with the family during this very difficult time and we continue to cooperate fully with the investigating authorities.”, says the statement.
