The collaboration between will.i.am and Mercedes-AMG is probably one of the weirdest out there. But even more bizarre is the product of a partnership officially known as WILL.I.AMG. The one-off vehicle started its life as the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe but was given a strange face-swap with the Mercedes G-Class.
Announced back in May, the result is a curious-looking coupe that looks even stranger up close, thanks to a close-up walkaround video by MercBenzKing. There’s a lot to talk about this unique build, though we can start with those responsible for making it happen.

West Coast Customs, a popular retail retailer who rose to fame through MTV’s Pimp My Ride, makes WILL.I.AMG. Otherwise known as “The Flip”, this latest collaboration with will.i.am is the sixth project West Coast Customs has worked on with the 47-year-old rapper.
Standing as an ornament on the square’s front fascia is the bear logo that houses the Merc’s three-pointed star emblem. The logo is also in the center of all four wheels – all to promote the limited “Bear Witness” clothing and accessories collection.
And of course, you can’t miss The Flip’s rear-hinged doors, which turn the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe into a decent two-door coupe.
The interior changes are not extensive (except for the extra-long doors), as are the updates to the rear exterior. With the exception of the panoramic glass roof with center isle, carbon fiber trim, Alcantara liner, and WILL.I.AMG branded floor mats and door frames, there are not many deviations applied to the cabin. The engine bay hasn’t changed either, which is a good thing.
Flip made his public debut at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. This project may look unusual but know that it was made for a good cause. In particular, the results of Bear Witness Drop Collection 1 – Limited Edition will benefit i.am/Angel Foundation artists, with the aim of reaching disadvantaged youth and inspiring them to achieve greater things.
