World 4×4 Diariomotor: surprises in the first group stage [EP1-11]

The 4×4 Diariomotor World Championship has just started. An ambitious and hilarious project that will last for 6 weeks, in which 12 SUVs and SUVs will face each other. The objective, discover which is the best 4×4 for sale in Spain. We have already told you what you need to know about the World Cup and its rules, and this time, it is time to talk about the first group stage. It is now available on our YouTube channel and two pure 4x4s have faced each other, the Suzuki Jimny, the Jeep Wrangler and an SUV, the SEAT Tarraco.

On paper, the SEAT Tarraco has little to do. It is an asphalt SUV and although it has all-wheel drive, it mounts asphalt tires and has a sporty FR finish. SEAT has not even published its off-road dimensions, but this SUV will have to face two monsters. The Spanish SUV has had to face the Suzuki Jimny and the Jeep Wrangler. For its part, the Suzuki is one of our favorite 4x4s. Not only is it the cheapest pure 4×4 on the market, it is also very capable and has the best dimensions of this phase thanks to its very short wheelbase.

On paper, the fiercest battle will be between the Jeep and the Suzuki… right?

The Jimny lacks diff-locks, but it does have AllGrip traction control, which is really effective at limiting wheel spin. Its operation can be abrupt and even violent, and makes the vehicle move in a jumpy way. On the other hand, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon of this group stage is its 4xe version plug-in hybrid. But his last name Rubicon implies that he has triple mechanical locking of its differentials – the most effective system – in addition to mounting off-road tires as standard.

However, its battle makes its dimensions are lower than those of the Suzuki Jimny. In this group stage, the three contenders they tackle the broken road, some relatively easy dubbies and the anti-SUV slope – a slippery 50% incline with a specially designed bridge crossing to bring out the colors of any AWD system. All in all, it is not advisable to underestimate a well-performing SUV on this circuit, because it is capable of giving us surprises.

If you want to know what has happened, we recommend that you watch the video that we have left on these lines. It has no waste.
