After giving the Supra a much-needed six-cylinder manual gearbox, Toyota is now turning its attention to a race car version. Launched three years ago, the GT4 is ready to race with a series of mechanical upgrades. Since its first full racing season in 2020, more than 50 GT4s have raced worldwide and have won 11 national and international championships. Overall, the race car had over 50 wins in August.
Toyota Gazoo Racing engineers implemented changes to the way the car’s brakes and grips followed the feedback it received from those who had raced it. In addition, the 3.0 liter engine has more horsepower and a better torque curve, as well as better cooling. The Supra GT4 Evo gets redesigned brakes with recalibrated ABS and the latest generation KW dampers. In addition, this 2023 specification race car received a different anti-roll bar to increase stability during high-speed cornering.

We’ll see the Supra GT4 Evo in action for the first time in January at the Daytona 24 Hours during the season premiere round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Meanwhile, the order book opened today and Toyota Gazoo Racing is asking for €186,000, excluding taxes, customs and logistics costs. Existing owners do not need to buy a new car as upgrades can be obtained separately to match the Evo’s specifications.
There are several options available, including a rearview camera and a drinking system. The Supra GT4 Evo can also be specified with a tire pressure monitoring system at an additional cost, while sensors that monitor suspension travel are also extra. The homologous resistance pack completes the list of optional items.
Regarding road cars, we are still patiently waiting for the Supra GRMN rumors to circulate. Last we heard, Toyota put a BMW S58 engine with over 500 horsepower but only with an automatic transmission.
