During this second day of EMS 2022, Toyota introduces the vehicles it will exhibit at this year’s Specialty Equipment Markets Association event. Are four new cars that focus on performance: a rally-inspired hot hatch, drag and drift concepts, and a race-ready car.

First, the GR Corolla Rally Concept, this car is inspired by Toyota’s racing car for the World Rally Championship where the Japanese firm competes with the GR Yaris Rally WRC. The concept in EMS is based on the GR Corolla Circuit Edition 2023 and features rally-inspired bodywork made from carbon fiber for additional downforce at high speed.

The package includes: new side skirts, gauge steel fender flares, a front splitter and a rear spoiler. The hot hatch it rides on 17-inch OZ wheels, hiding a ventilated four-piston brake system. Additionally, changes to the three-cylinder engine include a TRD airbox and a custom exhaust system.

Also on display in Las Vegas are a couple of tow vehicles GR Supra 2020. These have been created by Toyota and the Toyota Motorsports Garage team on a budget of $10,000. Both of them Supra They cover the quarter mile in less than 11 seconds. Plus, thanks to new Pure Turbo single turbochargers and high-performance intercoolers, the 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engines in these cars make 30-40% more power than stock.

Specifically, the engines produce 620 hp (462 kW / 629 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque, a substantial increase from its original rating of 335 hp (250 kW/340 PS) and 365 lb-ft (494 Nm).

Famed Formula Drift photographer Larry Chen helped the Japanese manufacturer build the concept Toyota GR86 Daily Drifter which has a special decoration reminiscent of the racing cars that compete in the series.

The main idea behind the project was to create a car that looked and felt almost like a real professional drift car, but also one that the average enthusiast could afford to keep at home. The Daily Drifters It has several exterior upgrades including a new body kit. Additionally, a new intercooled supercharger kit and custom exhaust system draw more power from the 2.4-liter engine.

Finally, Toyota exhibits the GR86 Cup Car developed exclusively for the GR Cup racing series. A single-make championship starting next year under the umbrella of SRO Motorsports America. Some of the hardware modifications compared to the GR86 original comprise: a gearbox six-speed sequential, Alcon brakes, carbon fiber rear spoiler and a custom exhaust system.
