For reasons still under investigation, one of the involved vehicles crossed into the opposite lane of traffic causing the head-on collision.
After the impact, the Toyota stopped inside the southbound lane of trafficfacing the opposite side, while the Subaru stopped looking the other way within the northbound lanes.
The Toyota was engulfed in flames upon impact. All occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, after putting out the vehicle fire.
The sole occupant of the Subaru also died at the scene..
The cause of the accident is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
