However, there is always an exception to the rule and this is the case. A Lamborghini Huracan was stopped on an avenue in Madrid. The incident went viral on social networks and a recurring phrase is: “A car that costs more than a house and they don’t have enough for gasoline”.

The owner of this supercar faces a possible economic sanction. The law in Spain does not sanction running out of gasoline, but punish the circumstances in which it happens.

For example, it is punishable to park in an inappropriate place, this being the case, since it is the Madrid center. In addition, performing maneuvers that put the driver or other users at risk is also subject to a fine.


Article 91 of the highway code says that “the stop and parking must be carried out in such a way that the vehicle does not hinder traffic or constitute a risk for the rest of the road users, taking special care in positioning the vehicle and preventing it from moving in the absence of the driver”.

Parking in dangerous places is considered a serious infraction that can carry a fine of 200 euros. For now, there is no information on whether the driver was penalized or not.
