A 58-year-old man loses his life after being hit by a car while leaving the hospital where he was hospitalized in New York, trying to cross the road on foot.

A man who was admitted to a hospital still wearing the hospital gown and bracelet, decided to leave on foot and was hit by a car yesterday morning in Brooklyn (NYC).

The fatal victim was a 58-year-old man who had been confined as a patient in the Coney Island Hospital who, upon being released by doctors, was hit by a car while trying to cross the Belt Parkway on foot.
He was severely hit on the road near Coney Island Avenue and the hospital by a sedan honda accord he was traveling around 5:50 am Friday, according to police.
The man lost his life almost instantly at the scene of the accident. The driver remained at the scene and was not charged. The identity of the man and his treatment were not released.
This year has been fatal in terms of traffic accidents in the county. From January 1 to July 31, some 150 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, according to the Department of Transportation (DOT) from the city. With a 129% increase in hit-and-run incidents.
Mayor Eric Adams has had challenges in terms of murders. This despite “Vision Zero” (Vision Zero)road safety plan created in 2014 by the then mayor Bill de Blasio.
