Delight in the V10 scream of a BMW M6, giving it its all on the German Autobahn (+ video)

One of the Best engines ever made by BMW it is called S85B50. Behind this internal code hides an naturally aspirated engine with a 5.0-liter displacement and a 10-cylinder V-shaped mechanical layout. It is an authentic jewel, with technology derived from Formula 1, 10 individual intake trumpets and 507 hp of maximum power, in addition to a speed of rotation that comfortably enters the territory of 8,000 laps. A spectacular sound engine, which you can now enjoy on the German Autobahn, with free exhaust. This is not to be missed.

The cars in which this engine was mounted were only the BMW M5 and BMW M6, between the years 2004 and 2010. These engines are a delight, but they were guilty of not being too reliable: one of their most frequent failures is the bushings of the connecting rods, which become “consumable” items and need to be changed several times during the life of the car. Also, at least in Europe, these engines were “ballasted” by the semi-automatic SMG changewhile in the United States they could enjoy manual gearboxes.

The sound of the intake is intoxicating. Perhaps even more than his escape.

In the latest video published by the Dutch channel AutoTopNL, the tester was able to get the most out of the V10 mechanics of a BMW M6 on a stretch of the German Autobahn with no speed limit. The car in question lacks the standard speed limiter and has free exhaust, with a straight line at the bottom. Its sound is intoxicating and addictive, the scream of its full-load admission being especially exciting. Nor can we forget the relative ease with which the car without a limiter reaches the 300 km/h barrier.
