The Lamborghini Aventador replacement continues its development on the road and this spy video captures two of them doing some tests. One has what appears to be the production-spec exhaust design, while the other sports a more provisional-looking setup.

The clip begins with the car leaving a gate. The successor to the Aventador employs loose white fabric over the entire body. The front overhang appears longer than that of the current car, but the overall silhouette is in the familiar Lamborghini wedge shape. A hole in the deck is located just behind the front doors on the rear fenders.

For its part, in the rear, this machine has a pair of high-mounted exhaust pipes with hexagonal outlets. Taillights sit next to them at the outer corners. The bumper appears to include a large diffuser.

It should be noted that the video only shows the rear of the other Aventador successor development vehicle. Instead of the hexagonal exhaust design, this car has two pairs of pipes that merge into individual outlets. The rest of the tail appears to be the same as the other vehicle in this clip.

The previous spy photos they showed another exhaust design. That car had four circular tubes coming out of the rear. It is not yet clear if Lamborghini intends to offer multiple designs for retail outlets or if the different appearances are purely for model development.

There are also photos that provide a glimpse of the interior of the successor to the Aventador. It has a digital instrument cluster with a center-mounted tachometer that shows a red line around 8500rpm, a digital speedometer, driver assistance system view, drive mode, and more.

Debut in 2023

The Aventador’s successor still sports a naturally aspirated V12 engine, but the powertrain gets plug-in hybrid power assist. The system is capable of driving the supercar on pure electric power, but the range in this configuration is unknown.

According to Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the successor to the Aventador will debut near the end of the first quarter of 2023, in talks with ABC News. This moment suggests that the presentation could be in March. Even before the premiere, the Italian supercar manufacturer had close to 3,000 reservations.
