The Suzuki Jimny it’s always been a cute off-roader with great capabilities, in all its past and future guises. The Japanese manufacturer is known to be working on a version of five doors of your SUV not available in USA, but nothing about a factory convertible variant. But, there is someone who built a suzuki jimny convertible And this one is in China.
The Chinese tuning firm YiChe Garage made possible a convertible version of the Jimny and actually it is more than it seems initially. Since the tuning company modified the SUV to look like a model of the company Wey and his Tank family.
The first Suzuki Jimny convertible is in China
Wey, is a Chinese car manufacturer, which became popular last year with its model Tank 300 with design influences from ford bronco, Mercedes-Benz G-Class and even Jeep Wrangler. Images of the Jimny Convertible as well as the video from the YouTube channel WheelsBoy, show an attempt at a smaller Tank 100 that does not officially exist.
Essentially, a Modified Jimnythis Tank 100 looks two doors and a design that tries to mirror that of the Tank 300. The highlight of the style are the LED lights at the front with its daytime running lights in the center and fog lights integrated in the bumper. In addition, it sports a striking body color in a greenish-yellow tone and a beige interior with black details.
However, the tank badge was replaced with the original tuning company logo in order to avoid copyright issues.
It is worth mentioning that this Jimny is not officially available in China. And it is that, the team that created this project had to import the mentioned model of suzuki and spend about $60,000 to accomplish the mission. Additionally, another $60,000 was spent on modifications, making it one of the most expensive Jimnys yet.
