Flashy and controversial in equal measure, the BMW XM is a car that can already be bought in Spain. The first exclusive BMW M car lands in the Spanish market with a recipe that has nothing to envy to the Lamborghini Urus or the Aston Martin DBX, because under its imposing design in SUV format it hides a plug-in hybrid beast that promises 653 hp and driving dynamics at the level of the best supercars.
BMW has just opened the order book for the new XM, its new flagship within the M range. It is an unprecedented car for the brand, but it also offers an equally unique vision in terms of design, approach and price. And it is that the BMW XM will have a price in Spain from 177,000 euros For its simplest version, a BMW XM Label Red remains to be seen, which will further raise the bar in power (748 CV) and exclusivity, in order to far exceed 200,000 euros.
First customer deliveries of the BMW XM are scheduled for spring 2023. At the moment, only the “access” version of the XM is being marketed, assuming that we are talking about a huge 5.11-meter-long SUV equipped with a plug-in hybrid propulsion system based on the 4.4 V8 Twin-Turbo engine and that is capable of to develop 653 hp maximum combined power and 800 Nm of maximum torque.
Despite its almost 2.8 tons, the BMW XM speaks of true supercar performance when doing the 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, reaching 250 km/h maximum speed (can reach 270 km/h optionally). But the most curious of all is that the BMW XM will be able to display the ZERO emissions label on its windshield, since it certifies a WLTP autonomy in electric mode of up to 88 km thanks to its enormous battery with a net capacity of 25.7 kWh (almost as much as a Dacia Spring).
Despite its size, the BMW XM will only be sold in a 5-seat configuration, enjoying a 527-liter boot.
In terms of equipment, the BMW XM offers an extremely complete endowment in terms of infotainment (double screen with 12.3 and 14.9″), driving assistance or comfort. Personalization is clearly one of its great strengths, finding a wide variety of possibilities in terms of paints, inserts, alloy wheels, interior upholstery or moldings. Of course, as soon as we get carried away by its configurator, it will be easy to get close to 200,000 euros, especially if we let ourselves be carried away by the possibilities of BMW Individual.
