The last great supercar made by Alfa Romeo it is and will remain for some time the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. With only 500 units manufactured, a suggestive exterior design and a whole V8 Ferrari under its front hood, this is a highly coveted piece of the most modern Alfa. And now one of these cars can be yours, well what could be the most special Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione ever made just went on sale an interesting unit of which today we are going to know its price and what makes it so special.
Next February 1st, a new RM Sotheby’s auction will take place in Paris, an event where the star will be the Bugatti Chiron Profilée, but where we can see other extremely interesting jewels such as this Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.
Manufactured in a limited production of 500 units in a coupe body and another 500 units in a convertible body (8C Spider), the 8C has rightfully become the last great supercar made by Alfa Romeo, at least until the Italian firm presents us with its long-awaited and so many times promised successor. Related to the Maserati GranTurismo in chassis and powertrain (4.7 V8 of 450 CV manufactured by Ferrari), the 8C sported a bodywork created at the Centro Stile of Alfa Romeo commanded at the time by designer Wolfgang Egger.
But within the specialness of the model, this particular unit hides a curious story behind it that makes it more exclusive. We are talking about a unit that was originally acquired by a Japanese collector, also doing so with a gray exterior paint. Nevertheless in 2016 it returned to Europe, first passing through the facilities of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera to undergo a restoration processaddition of new leather upholstery, embroidery and appliqués, in addition to the complete repainting of the bodywork in Rosso Stratosfero color. We are talking about a process that took 8 weeks of work and that cost 34,720 euros, being fully certified by the well-known bodybuilder.
Its good state of conservation, the fact of having only 9,907 km, the original set of suitcases and an up-to-date maintenance history, make this Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione have a purchase price ranging between 250,000 and 330,000 euros. Although for many the fact of not being a completely original unit can be a brake, for others the opposite occurs, since the fact that the modifications are made and certified by Touring are a great incentive.
And you do you think? Does the Touring work subtract or add value to this Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione?
