For a few years now, the overlanding has exploded in popularity. Overlanding is an umbrella under which the preparation and camperization of vehicles is included – whether they are off-road vehicles, SUVs or vans – with the aim of spending a lot of time away from civilization. It is one of the great trends of the current aftermarket, and that is why Jeep itself has just introduced the first trailer capable of withstanding the same off-road rigors as a Jeep Wrangler. It has been manufactured by Addax, and is the perfect trailer for the most Jeep overlanders.
The trailer is inspired by military trailers and is constructed entirely of high-strength steel. It weighs 385 kilos empty and has a load capacity of no less than 550 kilos.. Its torsion axles are independent and it mounts wheels with off-road tires to guarantee good grip on any surface. Its plant is 1.5 meters wide by 1.8 meters long and has no less than 432mm ground clearance. When camping, four legs stabilize it, and each can support up to 3.6 tons.
Trailer hitch allows 360 degrees of mobility. The trailer will never be a limiting factor.
The trailer itself offers almost 1,000 liters of internal volume storage and is fully customizable. In the images that Addax has published, it shows how a large tent located on an upper structure looks like. Fuel cans, plates for the most extreme jams, a practicable awning, a ladder… in short, whatever we want can be attached to its “bodywork”. The price of this Trail-Rated trailer has not been announced, but everything indicates that it will not be cheap.
Its deliveries will begin at the beginning of next year.
